With a plan set to undergo NASA's first major site overhaul since 2003, outsourced hi-tech solutions firm eTouch granted the coveted job to the Toronto branch of web design firm Critical Mass, which according to the latter's case study, beat out 26 other agencies to win the gig.

In doing so, Critical Mass set coordinates on the Facebook/MySpace crowd of 18-25s to flaunt NASA's educational and scientific acumen to this audience. The firm synced with ten NASA centers to create a more consistent, user-friendly site that now features streamlined news headlines, mission calendars and a host of multimedia features including the streaming NASA TV, entertaining podcasts and blogs from NASA insiders and an option to create playlists of NASA footage, from space orbit views to space launches and more.
