"Everyone who works here has the opportunity to be themselves and put themselves into their work."

10 Things About Us

  1. We work in teams as small as 2 or as large as 40. We have 11 people on staff named Steven, so nearly every account team includes at least one.
  2. Critical Mass co-founder Ted Hellard also owns stake in the Calgary Stampeders, a franchise in the Canadian Football League (that's football with three downs for you NFL fans). Our finance team likely won't be drafted.
  3. Our 2007 CMMY event - at which we celebrate our work - was simulcast in our three production cities: Toronto, Calgary and Chicago. Dick Clark did not attend.
  4. Our executive team includes a former golf pro and a former national field hockey team player not to mention a handful of ice hockey and ski enthusiasts. They're all sticking with their day jobs.
  5. Our employees originate from: Canada, the USA, China, Pakistan, Russia, Korea, Germany, Scotland, Australia, South Africa, Mexico, The Netherlands, Peru, India, Romania, France, Japan, Sweden and wherever it is that creatives come from.
  6. Our BeerCamp events - mini-"unconferences" where participants contribute to presentations and PowerPoint is forbidden - are just one forum for sharing the latest and greatest tricks and trades. And, well, there's beer.
  7. Our sabbatical program allows employees time to putter, think, teach, and travel. Participants thus far have spent time with packs on their backs exploring the far corners of this big blue marble.
  8. The bistro in our Calgary office serves Elvis in a Blanket.
  9. Our work is managed in business units named for the colors in our marketing materials: Orange; Blue; Green etc. No one is going to argue over Chocolate.
  10. Our dress code - or lack there of - means you're more likely to see a Metallica T-shirt than a tie, oh unless you're a client.
